30-day Plant-based Food Challenge

UP! Athletic are teaming up with Amanda from Planted Life to bring you a challenge which focuses on your dietary habits. For the month of August Planted Life are encouraging you to sign up to the #30dayplantbasedchallenge which sees you adopting a plant-based (vegan) diet for 30 days.

This challenge isn't about deprivation or calorie counting, its about being more mindful about the origin of your food in particular focussing on foods sourced from the ground up; fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes and beans. You will be sourcing your protein from foods such as tofu, tempeh, beans, legumes and nuts and eating plant-based fats such as avocado, coconut and seeds. You will be encouraged to order a vegetable burger instead of a beef burger when dining out and replacing dairy milk with soy or almond milk when ordering a latte at your favourite coffee shop.

Rumour has it, it takes 30 days to make a habit so Amanda hopes in 30 days that a few habits will be changed. Even if you don't adopt a plant-based (vegan) diet after the 30 days the hope is you would have increased your intake of plant-based foods such as fruit and vegetables which will only contribute to greater health and wellbeing.

For 30 days Amanda will guide, inspire, motivate and encourage you to embrace the power of plants. To wake up craving a green smoothie, smashed avocado on toast and have your morning oats with coconut yoghurt.  She will give you tips on eating out, cooking at home and how to speak up when heading to a friends house for a dinner party. No stone will be left unturned about how to eat, live and shop like a vegan during this challenge.

The only question now is, are you game?
